Dog food and hotspots – how diet can affect skin problems

Our dog came from an animal shelter. Within the first few months, we noticed that he repeatedly developed so-called hotspots —inflamed patches of skin that visibly bothered him.

For the first two years, we changed our dog food almost every three months. We tried different brands, varieties, and formulations to find the cause. Unfortunately, the problem returned every time.
